Last updated: 29 October 2026
Product: WicketSide
Tagline: From Toss to Trophy
Support: support@wicketside.app

Note: This is the full product Terms of Service used in the WicketSide app. Have a lawyer review it before Google Play or App Store public launch. Replace the operator legal name below if you incorporate a company.

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service (Terms) are a binding agreement between you (you, user, or player) and the operator of the WicketSide application (we, us, or WicketSide).

Operator (trade name): WicketSide
Contact: support@wicketside.app
Primary region: India (Tamil Nadu / Chennai area clubs)

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the WicketSide mobile application (the App), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

If you use the App on behalf of a cricket club, team, or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that club for the accounts and data you manage.

2. What WicketSide is

WicketSide is a weekend cricket club companion app. It helps clubs and teams with:

WicketSide is not:

3. Eligibility

  1. You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable law.
  2. The App is intended for adults organising or playing in weekend cricket clubs. If a minor uses a device with the App, the adult account holder is responsible for that use and for any club data involving the minor.
  3. You must provide accurate registration details (name, contact details, and other information we request).
  4. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or misused the App.

4. Accounts and sign-in

4.1 Sign-in methods

Depending on the App version, you may sign in with:

You are responsible for keeping your device and account secure. Email support@wicketside.app if you believe your account was accessed without permission.

4.2 One person, one account

Do not share your login in a way that lets others impersonate you for polls, dues claims, or team administration. Club captains and treasurers remain responsible for verifying real-world payments outside the App.

4.3 Account deletion

We intend to provide in-app account deletion before public store launch (required by Apple and expected by Google). Until that ships, email support@wicketside.app to request deletion of cloud-backed profile data linked to your sign-in. Local data on a phone can be removed by clearing app data or uninstalling the App.

5. Clubs, teams, and roles

5.1 Clubs and teams

Users may create or join teams using invite links or codes. A person may belong to more than one club or team over time.

5.2 Roles

Roles may include captain, vice-captain, treasurer, player, and similar club roles. Permissions differ by role. For example:

Use only roles and powers your club has given you. Misuse of captain or treasurer powers (false fee records, harassment via invites, or similar) breaches these Terms and may also breach your club’s own rules.

5.3 Invites

Invite links and codes are for your squad. Do not publish them in a way that invites strangers into private club money or contact data. You are responsible for who you invite.

5.4 Club content

Names, photos, kit notes, expenses, and results entered by club members are club content. The club (through its captains and treasurers) is responsible for accuracy and for resolving internal disputes.

6. Availability, selection, and stats

6.1 Polls and replies

Availability replies (Yes / Maybe / No) are tools for your club. They do not create employment, paid selection rights, or any obligation for the club to pick you.

6.2 Suggested Lineup

The Suggested Lineup ranks Yes voters using factors such as attendance, recent form, and consistency (Yes votes divided by scheduled polls), and shows balance guidance (batting depth, bowling coverage, variety, all-rounder bowling, bench strength).

The App only suggests. The captain (or club) makes the final side.

Dues and payments are never used in Suggested Lineup scoring.

6.3 Recognition badges

Orange Cap, Purple Cap, and Man of the Match medals (when shown) are recognition only, based on results entered by the club. They do not change dues or create prizes unless your club separately decides that.

6.4 Accuracy of stats

Runs, wickets, MOM, and related stats depend on data entered by captains or other authorised users. We do not independently verify match scores.

6.5 Motivation messages

Pep or motivation templates are optional messages Caps may share. They are not official club policy unless your club says so.

7. Money, dues, and UPI

7.1 No in-app collection of funds

WicketSide helps clubs track match fees, nets fees, team kit expenses, and similar charges. Players typically:

  1. Pay the treasurer outside the App (for example PhonePe, GPay, or cash), using the treasurer’s UPI ID or QR code shown in the App; then
  2. Record I’ve paid (or similar) and enter a UPI reference or note; then
  3. Wait for the treasurer to confirm or reject the claim.

We do not process card payments, hold club money in a WicketSide wallet, or confirm bank transfers ourselves. We do not use upi://pay deep links to personal UPI IDs as an automatic collection method in v1.

7.2 Treasurer responsibility

Only the treasurer (as configured in the App) should confirm payments. Other roles must not invent confirmed payments that were not received.

7.3 Disputes between club members

Disputes about who owes what, no-shows, splits, or refunds are between you and your club. WicketSide is not a party to those disputes and is not an arbitrator. Keep your own UPI receipts.

7.4 Club fee rules

Rules such as whether a Yes voter who does not turn up still owes a match fee, or monthly contribution amounts and who opts in, are decided by the club. The App may ship with defaults; the club must communicate its rules to members.

8. Grounds, coaching centres, and maps

Menu entries for Grounds and Coaching Centers may show placeholder or directory content. Optional future map integrations (including Google Maps) are subject to those providers’ terms. WicketSide does not guarantee safety, availability, or quality of any ground or coaching centre listed or linked.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  1. Use the App for anything illegal under Indian law or the law of your location.
  2. Harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against other users.
  3. Upload unlawful, pornographic, or highly offensive photos (for example in trophies or profile).
  4. Attempt to hack, scrape, reverse engineer (except where mandatory law allows), or overload the App or its backends.
  5. Impersonate another player, captain, or treasurer.
  6. Use dues or payment screens to commit fraud.
  7. Spam invites, notifications, or share messages.
  8. Systematically copy the App to build a competing product beyond normal personal use.
  9. Circumvent role permissions or security measures.

We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts for violations.

10. Intellectual property

11. Third-party services

The App may rely on third parties, including:

Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their outages or policy changes.

12. Notifications

The App may ask for notification permission for match polls, booking updates, and dues reminders. You can change permission in your phone settings. Some features may work poorly if notifications stay off.

13. Beta, pre-release, and availability

During development and beta:

We provide the App on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.

14. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the minimum permitted by law.

16. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the App; your club’s money disputes; content you upload; or your breach of these Terms — except to the extent caused by our wilful misconduct.

17. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App at any time (uninstall or log out).

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the App. On termination, rights granted to you end; sections that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limits) continue.

18. Changes to the App or Terms

We may update the App and these Terms. For material changes, we will update the Last updated date and, where reasonable, notify you in the App or by notice. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the App.

19. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you, courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

Before filing a claim, please email support@wicketside.app and allow a reasonable time to resolve the issue informally.
